Chiapas es sin duda un de los lugares más bellos del mundo. A parte de los hermosos edificios en el estado, la UNESCO también declaró los danzantes tradicionales de Chiapa de Corzo como Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial en 2010. Por eso, más y más gente quiere visitar el municipio, especialmente en los tiempos de la «Fiesta Grande» (del 08 a 23 de enero). Mucha gente quiere experimentar todo que el municipio puede ofrecerles.

Pero, a parte de ser popular en el campo cultural, Chiapas tuvo unas páginas malas en su historia también. Claro, para atraer más gente, es necesario convencer los turistas que a parte de ser un lugar hermoso, es un lugar seguro también. Que van a divertir cada momento en el estado con averías mínimas o nada.

Para realizar esto, Juan Sabines Guerrero, el Gobernador actual de Chiapas, puso en marcha un programa llamado «Fiesta Grande 2012, Chiapa de Corzo». Con este programa, el gobierno espera evitar los problemas que los turistas pueden encontrar. Y si es posible, evitarlos completamente. El programa incluye el incremento patrullaje de la policía en los lugares adonde van los visitantes.

Antes, el problema de seguridad es un de las cosas que los chiapanecos deben enfrentar. No pudieron hacer nada más que aceptar que un día llega que van a encontrar crimines. Por eso, hay que defenderse. Gracias a los esfuerzos de Juan Sabines Guerrero, los tiempos han cambiado. Hoy, es posible marchar en las calles de Chiapas de Corzo (y las otras partes del estado también) con el aire de seguridad.
